This is an exciting opportunity to become a key member of the team for a unique development fund and company focused on commercial scripted and unscripted projects that address the climate and nature crisis. This is a part time consultancy role working remotely in the US.
THE COMPANY
Climate Spring is a unique company working to develop content with the world’s leading production companies and broadcasters. We are a team made up of film and TV professionals, climate and funding experts. Our primary focus is on identifying, supporting and developing a range of long-form content that is commercially viable within the global English language market. We also provide consultancy and training support to the industry on climate storytelling within a commercial context.
THE ROLE
We are looking for a motivated and experienced Development Executive to join our team in the US.
Key responsibilities:
- Work with the scripted development team in the UK to drive the development of the company’s USA television and limited series slate, as well as acquiring and developing new IP and concepts
- Manage and develop relationships with broadcasters, commissioners, production companies in the US
- Manage and develop the company’s talent network though agents and other relevant screen industry stakeholders in the US
- Prepare and develop development material for use in pitching.
- Provide regular updates to the Directors on slate
- Prepare regular development funding recommendations for the Directors’ review and approval
- To champion talent and diversity in all aspects of our work.
To be considered for this opportunity you will need to demonstrate the following skills:
Key skills:
- Passion for Editorial Work: Deep interest in shaping scripted content with a focus on impactful, socially relevant storytelling.
- Deep networks and knowledge of the US TV and scripted series landscape.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to tackle challenges creatively and find practical solutions in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; adept at presenting ideas clearly, writing compelling pitches, and distilling complex information into concise summaries.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous in managing content, ensuring accuracy and consistency across all stages of development.
Minimum role criteria:
- 7 + years experience working in development for TV, limited series or film.
- Interest in social issue storytelling
- Ability to use IT proficiently, including Google products and Zoom.
- Experience of handling confidential information with tact and sensitivity.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with a wide variety of internal and external colleagues and contributors.
- Able to work as a member of a team and work in a confident and collaborative way.
